Armand Duplantis Sets New Pole Vault World Record

Mondo Duplantis Retains Olympic Gold in Paris

Swedish vaulter flies over the bar at 625m

Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis has once again rewritten the history books, setting a new world record of 625m at the Olympic Games in Paris.

The 22-year-old, who already held the previous world record of 621m, cleared the bar at his third and final attempt to claim his second Olympic gold medal.

Duplantis's victory was never in doubt, as he dominated the field from the start. He cleared each height on his first attempt, including the previous world record of 621m.

With the gold medal already secured, Duplantis then went for broke and attempted to break his own world record.

On his second attempt, he narrowly missed clearing the bar at 625m. But on his final attempt, he soared over the bar with ease, setting a new world record and cementing his status as the greatest pole vaulter in history.
