Boston Powers Past Dallas for Game 2 Win
Porzingis Makes Immediate Impact with 20 Points
The Boston Celtics powered past the Dallas Mavericks 105-98 on Sunday night in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, seizing a 2-0 series lead. Star forward Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 22 points, while Kristaps Porzingis, coming off the bench, made an immediate impact with 20 points.
The Celtics controlled the game from the start, jumping out to a 30-18 lead after the first quarter. Porzingis sparked a Mavericks run in the second quarter, but Boston entered halftime with a 52-45 advantage.
Dallas trimmed Boston's lead to just six points midway through the third quarter, but the Celtics responded with a 10-0 run to pull away. The Mavericks never threatened in the fourth quarter, as Boston cruised to the victory.
Luka Doncic had a triple-double for Dallas with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. However, he shot just 10-of-28 from the field and had eight turnovers.
The series now shifts to Dallas for Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday. The Celtics will aim to extend their lead, while the Mavericks will need to win both games to keep the series alive.
